I hope this will be my last blog entry before I can write about the feeling of winning a UAAP championship. I don't really have much to say right now but I just want to ask all of you, who will be reading this before the game tomorrow, to pray for us. This is what we worked extremely hard for, and I hope we can seal it with an exclamation point tomorrow. I truly believe in the power of prayer!
A lot of my friends have been texting me and asking if i am alright because there have been rumors going around that I have been receiving all sorts of threats, even death threats. I just want to say, for the record, that I have not received any such threats and i hope not to receive any in the future. Funny how the media keeps insisting that i am being stalked and threatened. I guess it's all part of the hype of this tumultuous event called Ateneo vs La Salle. Anyway, it's such an honor to be part of it at least for one chapter of my life. 
I'd also like to invite everyone to attend MEG Magazine's 10th anniversary party this Friday, September 26 from 6 to 11pm @ Club Ascend (2nd floor Bonifacio High Street). I might drop by as I am supposed to receive an award, but that will depend on the outcome of tomorrow's game. So pray that we close it out! For more details, check out www.meggurl.com

whoa... that was a tough game huh.. I was right on saying that you are far better than jv casio.. I prayed for your victory.. hahaha.. Maierhofer's foul out was unexpected though the hand gesture was really unexplainable because only Rabeh (the MVP of season 71. a round of applause pls..) can see it.. Baclao did a good job being the Mvp of the finals GAme.. I thought it's gonna be you because of the points you made on the first half.. Well, hehe.. Jai did a good job doing that smash on the center,, I thought he'll be always at the perimeter. But all in all, It was a very good fight!!! Good Job To you CAptain.. Let Pumaren do all the complaining, it's still our triumph anyway and he can't do anything about it. The Archers just proved that they're sore losers for not even coming out of the dugout to accept their 1st runner-up trophy and medals. They've been saying it's the worst officiating, but hey, we've had even worse than this. They've been coming away with all the bad calls in their favor these past years, so now they know how it feels. Just because they didn't win, they're doing all the sour graping. Coach Norman never complained about the refs to the press, but Pumaren didn't even think twice in doing so.
And to those who sent and are still sending mean comments here, sorry fellas, we won, an we won with flying colors! I guess we have the right to brag, at the same time give back to God all the glory. He answered all our prayers. This championship is really for Team Ateneo. The best despedida indeed for you, Chris.
It was humbling to see you cry yesterday. Me and my sister were crying too. We all know that you opted to play one last year for the mission of bringing the crown back to Katipunan, and now that mission has finally been accomplished. And what better and sweeter way to do it than sweeping your arch rivals! Not just in the finals series but in the entire season as well: 4-0!
Kudos for being a part of the Mythical 5 and for winning the Ultimate Maaasahan Player award. I know you deserve even more than those, so I'm giving you the "Ultimate Dream Boy Award". Haha!
A dozen thanks, Chris, for the 5 glorious and blissful years you've spent in Ateneo. The whole community owes you so much. There may have been upsets, struggles and heartbreaks along the way, but we still ended up victorious. As they say, it's not how you start but how you finish. Surely God will be with us all throughout the game… because not only two or three but over a thousand people are praying for the championship… who could vividly imagine how proud your Alma Mater is of the successful UAAP Finals… let’s also give the credit to Coach Norman because it is his very first championship as Ateneo’s Head Coach…

It was so so funny, coz last night I watched the news and ATENEO was everywhere; its about the Championship game, other station also has live coverage of what was going on at the Ateneo Campus, they said you spoke during the mass, I wish I was there again.. huhu. When I was in HS I use to go there when we have an assembly in our Catholic Community an now I rarely visit ADMU **sigh**sigh**.. OK that’s another story..hehe…
But then again, Congratulations Blue Eagles, you really deserve being on top of them all… and sincerely, we will miss you playing in the hardcore… Winning the championship mean ending your career as a collegiate basketball player – On to the PBA… hahaha
How true that in every action, there’ll be an opposite reaction… we were happy that the Blue Eagles won, we were ad because it has been Chris’ last game in the UAAP…

Chris! it was great hearing from my friends that you guys won both games and now you're this year's UAAP CHAMPS!!! i say 'hear' coz i didn't get to watch both games [i do hope there's a replay tomorrow & on sunday - i'm at the cebu airport right now and will be back in manila tonight].
i do hope you'll write about what happened during the game, especially that technical foul with rico - i'm really curious bout that, and would really like to read your insight bout it - news stories aren't enough to satisfy my curiousity but i do hope i'll get a copy of both game 1 & 2 from eBay hehehe...still, i'll be waiting for your next entry bout it.

To all those who want to bring the eagles down, you can say all you want but all of you know we really were the better team this year. Nothing you can say will change the way we feel about this year. You say Ateneans are mayabang, pero mukhang mas mayabang mga lasalita because they can't accept defeat. Their coach ends up pointing fingers to others. We have had way more worse officiated games than this game and never ever would you hear a word from Coach Norman's mouth. Oh, and his reaction to coach franz words? "Now they know how all the other teams feel when they play DLSU".
One word: Breeding.
And to all those saying Ateneo paid the refs, and all that, does that mean you paid the refs too when they screwed FEU two times (first round and playoff)? You can all say what you want, but you can't change the outcome.
And to those commenting to Chris na wala naman sha, they wouldn't be in the finals without al-husseini, fine if that's how you put it, but i don't think they would have been in the finals without baclao, without Chris, or without any other player for that matter. We are a team, a community, a brotherhood and we are proud.

I actually want to study there because I think its a very nice place to finish this damn busy school life! and the joy of ADMU being the greatest team in the UAAP is the "cherry-on-top" of a fantastic school life!;D
All the girls especially my very best friends in my school are so in love with you!they are so going insane talking about you the whole time...it makes me laugh seeing their faces turning red whenever they talk about you! I believe you cant blame the archers for complaining the game as it is evident that there was "luto" in the game and it was evident.
La Salle really played well yesterday. Hands down to Ateneo as you guys are really strong this year however, base on the happenings yesterday La Salle really poured their hearts out in the game and with the uncalled calls of the referees it was really unfair that there was really game fixing happening.
I believe the Archers are not blaming the Blue Eagles Team for game fixing but how the officials play the game.
It should have been an exciting game yesterday but destroyed by a referees. From the 15 lead of Ateneo to 3 points lead...that is huge and exciting game but just of the calls of the referees that are not called for?!
People know think that the win of Ateneo wasn't as exciting as before.
But I bow down to my fellow Xaverian for a good game and winning the championship it may not be a nice game yesterday but you guys are strong.
Just hope that officials would play a fair game next time

To Charles: No need to comment on those bitter people anyway their message are not posted. Let them wallow in their own misery.
To those who are questioning the talents of the King Eagle, well the record is there to see: The Captain accomplished the mission as the top scorer of the ultimate battle that won the war. He was chosen Best Player of the Game by the experts that day.
This is a very bitter defeat for the opponents because it is the first time that the Blue Eagles swept them in an entire season. Bugbog sarado sila yet the Captain and his team did it with grace and class.
LA SALLE WILL BE FOREVER BITTER AGAINST THIS TEAM AND THE CAPTAIN.
finally,the big fight is over and the blue eagles emerged victorious!you definely deserve it.you worked as a team and you played a clean and honest game.the archers obviously gave you a hard time not because they are good players but because they played very physical and harsh.hope they stop blaming the referees,especially with that call made to rico.he is really mayabang in the court.with or without him the archers will not win anyway.they should be sportsmen enough to accept defeat.
we still hope to see you playing pro though,we sure want to see you grow more when it comes to your basketball prowess.

rico maierhofer was slapped w two TFs, both for taunting that got him ejected from the game. the second is the controversial call as no one can clearly tell, except prolly the ones near the playing court, if he really gave a finger to rabeh or what. according to rico, he was just telling jvee to rebound. i had my mom record the game last thurs and i just watched it yday. tis hard to call if it was a valid call from the refs but we have to respect their decision. as charles has reiterated here on previous entries fr. his ahya, IT IS NOT EASY TO BE A REFEREE. i used to complain about them as well, w bad officiating and all, but i did realize that they have one of the most diff, if not the most diff responsibilities in games like this. if there were people being sent death threats, i think refs are the best "candidates" in a sense.

it must be difficult not to react to all the bad words people have to say about the win, but just try not to mind them. a win is a win no matter what. i, too, was v disappointed w how no one from the la salle side went out to accept the runner-up trophy. whether theyll file a case w the uaap board about this [the second TF on maierhofer] or not, it was just proper for them to go out and receive their award. but that is invetable w games like this.
but it was former sen. and dlsu star player freddie webb himself who acknowledged that dlsu did their best (though i beg to disagree as ive seen the archers play better in the past) but the blue eagles is just stonger this year. take note: IS...because for me, personally, it was TEAMWORK AND DEFENSE that won ateneo the championships this season. la salle is a team to beat and for a minute there, w only a 3pt lead for ateneo, i really thought thered be game three already. but the archers lost heart for the game early on...they got so frustrated when the eagles kept scoring and they couldnt find a way around their tight defense as well.
chin up, charles! this is all part of the whole rivalry called ateneo-la salle. there will always be winners and losers at the end of every game; the diff is how both sides will take their victory and defeat.
kudos to coach norman and the whole ateneo blue eagles for a well played season. :D

Hi, just like to share with you my worst nightmare. last sept. 26 i was at club ascend for the meg's anniv party. i was so excited to go there knowing you, and your teammates will be there too. it was about 11 pm when i decided to go back to the parking lot to check on something. according to my guy friends they saw you and the rest of the Blue Eagles at ascend. but because i knew they are just joking i opted not to go back because my feet hurts too. my two other girl friends forgot something and went back at the club. after a few minutes, they were all shouting and told me you were there! they had awesome pictures with you! and i was like shocked to death that i bursted into tears. yes, i cried. i know you don't know me but i'm such a big fan. haha. the pictures ruined my night (good thing not our friendship). i even let them promise that should will accompany me at gma--and even have our OJT there since we are masscom students... i may sound desperate but that incident at ascend was one of the worst things that ever happened in my life. i am really looking forward of meeting you soon. even just a shot will do. i super want to meet you in person.:)
