Hello from Serbia

After playing 4 games here in Serbia, we finally won our last 2. Like i wrote about earlier, we lost our first game big time. Our 2nd game wasn't so bad but we still lost by 3 points due to bad breaks in the last few seconds. Our 3rd game, we won by around 10 points. And today, we won again by 40 points, against a much younger and less experienced team. Tomorrow will be the real test, we're playing the 4th best team in Serbia with an import and some national players.

Overall, i think that we are improving and gaining much needed experience. But moreover, we are able to bond with one another. For those who are still unaware, my current teammates are JV Casio (DLSU), Marc Barocca (FEU), Dylan Ababou (UST), Mac Baracael (FEU), RJ Jazul (Letran), Rey Guevarra (Letran), Jason Ballesteros (San Sebastian), Greg Slaughter (UV), Magi Sison (UP), JR Cawaling (FEU), Aldrich Ramos (FEU), Ryan Buenafe (who is not with us in Serbia), and Ford Arao who is currently part of the training pool. Despite coming from different backgrounds, the atmosphere within the team is really fun and enjoyable! Dylan Ababou is our team clown with an album of jokes. JV is indeed quiet and humble as advertised.

Serbia is a beautiful city. The food is yummy! Lots of meat, perfect for me. Weather is very comfortable at the moment, around 20 degrees. No traffic. For those who love the nightlife, this place is perfect for you. Too bad we're here for basketball games! We've also had the chance to go around the city center with shops and cafes. Funny, one of our coaches and Jason were attacked by a gypsy! Quite scary actually. I'll try to post pictures soon. That's all for now. Good night!

Thanks for answering my question re your other team mates, Chris.ü

Sad though, maybe you forgot to put a title on this blog entry. Maybe you were tired and sleepy already when you wrote this. Haha. But that's OK.ü

Congratulations for winning 2 out of 4 games!ü 50% is quite good, but of course there's still room for improvement. Good luck on the remaining ones!

I'm really happy cos your team has already bonded so well. Even though you're not that close to each other that much yet, you've established friendships that will surely last a lifetime. Maybe it'd be better if you share with the other guys your experiences and everything that the Ateneo has taught you. I read this particular article and the guys said they look up to you as their leader.

Take extra caution with yourselves and with your belongings, Chris. You're new to that country, so maybe the natives there are interested with you guys. Haha.

Be back soon. And bring home the bacon!ü

Congrats for the win Chris! I know your team will improve more as the days go by =)

For some reason, I just cant help but think of UAAP as I read your blog. Your teammates are also UAAP players. Now Im reminded that I wont be seeing you this UAAP season play basketball for Ateneo and that just makes me... umm... sad.

In a lighter note, Im glad you're bonding with your teammates. I guess it's just wierd that you're with other teams' players instead of your beloved Eagles :D

I hope you'll have some vids with them and post it here in your blogs. Im just curious to see you with them, you know, having fun and learning with them.

Uhm, hey, it's my first time to read any of your posts, so, would you care to answer my questions? Everyone could answer it...

1) What is your purpose of having this blog, i mean, marami ng may blog, but you guys? Is it for self-expression? Do you get self-satisfaction by this?:)

2) Why does being a so-called 'PERFECT' doesn't get into your head? Do you get conscious when you do something that is not expected by you to do? Do you sometimes feel PERFECT or FAMOUS?

3) Do you consider yourself as a public figure? If so, why? I wanna know :)

4) What is the religion of your parents? What are your plans for Holy Week? Do you like Planter's Salted Peanuts? Which do you prefer, Ruffles or Lays? Just wonderin'

P.S. everyone can answer, and if you care, please answer my question by email: johnpaul017@yahoo.com- yun eh kung gusto mo lang, I'm not obliging you to email your answers, I HOPE YA CAN ANSWER MY QUESTIONS! THANKS! GOOD LUCK!

Chris, is Ripley's about to end soon? Cos I heard there's a new show in GMA that's going to start on April 20, which is a Monday, though I'm not yet sure about its time slot. It made me a bit sad. Aw. I hope to be able to watch you host for a longer time. :(

Anyway, when are you coming back from Serbia? You're missed badly. Take care & win the remaining games! And yeah, we'll all be good this Lenten season and will really try to fast and sacrifice.ü

on LENTEN season, let us reflect and sacrifice that Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose again on Easter...
