Final 4 (Ateneo vs UE)

Honestly, I didn't expect the outcome to be a 20 point blowout, 50-70. I was actually surprised at how formidable our team can be if we play as one unit. Rabeh and I didn't even score much, but the others rose to the challenge in the scoring department, particularly Jai and Eric. People were asking if i was injured or what because I only made 2 points. In fact, there were even rumors the day before the game that I was injured. Funny how people know more things about me than I do. Well, i didn't have a very settled stomach when i woke up on the day of the game, but that really didn't bother me. I struggled at the beginning of the game so I didn't try too hard to look for my points. Anyway my teammates were doing really well so i supported them. But one thing was really notable during the game, our defense was solid! It annoys me when people ask if the UE players actually 'sold' the game. Well, I highly doubt that even if Marcy scored 0 and others didn't play up to par. But you have to give credit to our defense! They only had 21 points at half time. I hope that we can continue this level of play throughout the championship series, and even raise it some more.

At the start of the season, I didn't expect to have an Ateneo La Salle finals. These next few games will be the biggest games of my career and my greatest wish is to end on a high note! How sweet it would be if... you know... I don't wanna jinx it. People ask me how i'm feeling right now. I tell them i'm excited but i don't wanna get too excited because we haven't achieved anything yet. We can do all the celebrating after the job is done. Now it's all about focus and having the right mindset. There are indeed a lot of distractions, appearances, interviews, comments, etc. especially with all the hype that's being created! Tickets will be a problem again. Just have to block all of these. FOCUS is the keyword. We can only do so much, but with God's grace, I believe we can reach our goal. So thank you to all of you who have been praying for the team and i continue to ask you to pray for a smooth and FAIR game, and may the best team win! One big fight!

Chris

P.S. thanks to all those who stayed up late last night (Monday night) to catch Ripley's. We rated well, 21.5, way ahead for that time slot!

That was one great game!!! I agree with you about the defense we played. If we play the same way against DLSU, I'm sure we will come out victorious!!! Good luck to the team. One big fight!!!

nice entry. you really had great games this season! keep it up 'til finals! it's weird that the only game you lose happened on the day of st.ignatius, remember? nah... that's why your team stayed strong. yea... he won't let you down this time.

Yep... Focus is indeed the keyword. Every time one wishes for something, he should keep his eyes wide open, focus, & know exactly what he wants...coz no one hits the targets with his eyes closed. You've proven yourself worthy of being where you are right now. You won't jinx..because we people believe in you. Whoever ends this season victorious may be labeled as the stronger one, but as far as we all know, your team has proven itself worthy of winning the championship this year.

Even though you haven't scored much in the game against UE, I never took it negatively. You were there helping your teammates and I believe that what you've shown out there is what a true Blue Eagle captain should be made of.

God bless, Chris. We're all behind you. and I believe, so is God. And I'm also praying for a fair game. This is your last year after all...i want you to finish it the way you want it.

Wow, I'm surprised you even found time to blog. Ignore those idiots who keep asking if the UE players were bought off. Ateneo started off slowly but dominated from the middle of the first quarter onwards. Excellent defense! UE didn't stand a chance. Hope you can keep it up in the finals. I would love to see you sweep La Salle but no pressure. :p

Off-topic: I know you're interested in investment banking so I'd like to know what you think about what's happening with Lehman Brothers, ML and AIG. After the finals though.. As you said, you need to focus on the series. ONE BIG FIGHT!

Although you mentioned in your blog that you haven't really accomplished anything yet, I believe that leading the team all the way to the finals is worthy of praise. Congratulations dude!

As the famous basketball cliche goes, defense wins championships. We all believe that as long as the team keeps playing good defense, everything will fall into place, and after 6 years, we'll become uaap champs again.

Good luck! You've almost always done well against la salle, and we all know you'll come out roaring(flying? :D), more determined and focused than you have ever been. You've always been clutch!

I know there are still a maximum of three games left in your uaap stint, but as early as now, I would like to congratulate and thank you for five awesome years playing for the ateneo community. Without a doubt, your name will forever be immortalized along with the other Ateneo shooting guards in the past, regardless of what happens in the finals. It's been a pleasure watching you play.

Keep the Faith! One Big Fight!

This is it. Everything you worked for building up to these last couple of games. Remember the sacrifices, the hard work and the tough road it took to get to this point. It isn't over yet. But it is so close.
This is when championship teams step up. Remember the Eagles of old. Heart overcomes everything. Its there. Its yours. Now go claim it.
Good luck to you and the rest of the team. We will be there rooting for you every step of the way.

You are definitely right about those tickets..GAH!We are having a hard time getting already..that's why we have a back-up to the back-up to the back-up plan..like NASA hahahah "REDUNDANCY AFTER REDUNDANCY AFTER REDUNDANCY" just so that we can get to watch the Finals, kahit pa GA,papatulan na!hehehe And they jacked up the Upper A tickets by P40!GAH!

Hey..! ; ) Got our tickets n for sunday! and yeah, grabbing those tickets was sure crazy! Imagine we had to wait in line for like 3 hours.. We had arrived at araneta at exactly 8am.. and we finally got hold of those tickets by 11am.. aww gawd.. :(

But it's even crazier to know that I'm not even an atenean (im a paulinian, hoping to get in the Ateneo Law school in my own time..) yet I still got myself so engrossed with this stuff even to the point of exposing myself to the scorching heat of the sun and having my legs ache to death for standing for hours in a really LOOOOONG line!

So much for that.. anyways.. Hope you guys would have a great game this sunday.. We'll be rooting for your side..

Prepare yourself 'coz we'll be there.. harhar! :)

Hey Chris! Nice to know that you're very level-headed going into the BIG game on Sunday.

Being an unbiased supporter (I'm from UP so I bleed neither blue nor green...haha), I must say that AdMU and DLSU are very fierce teams going into the finals. As early as now, I extend my congratulations to both for making it this far.

But as you implied, what everyone should really pray for is that the officiating by the referees during the finals be a lot more accurate and fair . I think I'm asking for too much but hey, I'll give it a try.

I watched the DLSU-FEU game last Sunday (Sept. 14) and that Referee #12 should be fired ASAP. He made so many bad calls it'll drive you bonkers! Hopefully the finals won't suffer the same fate. Fingers crossed!

The best of luck to both your team, Chris, and DLSU. Whoever wins truly deserves the title. Keep it positive!

P.S. Thank you so very much Chris for having the time to let my friend and me take a picture with you near the South Gate crucifix after your game with UE.

I know it was kind of rude how we sorta barged into your post-game "prayer time" but what you did proved what people say about you: You truly are a very Christ-centered & accomodating person. I guess I had to see it to believe it (Oops! Sorry for the Ripley's pun...haha).

I will continue to pray for the team. I believe this is the time. One big fight!

i've been waiting for your post since sunday night..hahahaha...
it was an awesome game..i expected that you'd make lots of points that game but...nevermind you were so unselfish in letting your team make the points the points....
i guess it was the first time that your team had let other players play the last minutes of the game...
you really had a great defense...unbreakable..hahaha...i've seen there are no comments yet huh? is tihs the first?

congratulations to that wonderful game against UE..i do believe that this season is yours..Good luck to your final games with La Salle. I'm sure they will really tighten their defense and offense..(of course i know you know that..hahahaha...)

i'll really pray for your success and an injury-free game...
don't be too pressured...
all i can really say is that you pray, pray, pray, and pray before your practices and before each game...just offer your games to God and He'll surely grant what you want....

Salut, Chris! Yes, your show has changed its time slot when Survivor grabbed its place in the roster of primetime shows. Well, Ripley's follows right after my favorite Korean series, so I still watch your show. It's really educational. It's already part of my Monday night habit. Congratulations for the good ratings!

And also to your win last Sunday. It's good to know that you're in full support for your team members. Bonne chance to your team's game vs. DLSU next Sunday. Too bad, I cannot watch your game due to an important field trip.

Godspeed,
Ben Francis Rances

P.S.: When will you start on planning for your foundation? I hope it's open for volunteers. Merci beaucoup. :)

hi chris!
its my bday today thats why you're my favorite ateneo player cause u wear my lucky number(#17), but of course mainly your uncomparable talent on playing basketball which not just me but many people commend plus your good heart which is for sure GOD is very happy that's why HE blessed you always for being a good christian.
I dont use my bday leave today, actually im on the office right now.I ask my boss to use my leave next thursday so I can able to watch the second game.I want to see you receiving all your awardsss, meaning marami(for sure you'll be there to receive cause your playing unlike last year you were in pacquiao's fight)including the championship for this season's league.
Collective prayers really do miracles, so count me in,to be one of those praying for the success of the ateneo not just for this year but for all the seasons to come.
so bye for now i have finished something before lunch so I can catch the mass @ 12nn.
God Bless po Captain and good luck to the team (pls.extend my regardz to all)!

p.s. can you greet me as a bday gift and reward for working on my bday just to catch you on thursday.tnx ng marami!!!!!

Wow! You've posted a new entry again during the wee hours. Haha.
Hmm.. My dad also told me that maybe UE sold the game because they really played horribly. But i told him no! Of course not. Ateneo was just really superb. You showed championship form. And like what Mark Molina said, Ateneo is the obvious favorite to win the championship. well, not taking anything against La Salle of course because they're still the defending champs.
At first, I was bothered a bit by your low production of points. I observed you as you played, but i noticed that you seemed to be okay. So maybe you were just off in terms of scoring, but definitely not in making things happen for your team mates.
I wish you all the best for the finals. Alright, let's not jinx it. Haha!
I also pray you'd be this season's MVP... Do you care about that even a bit? Hehe.
One Big Fight!ü

Hi Chris,

It seems as if you're so so so busy with all the work huh… writing a short entry will justify it. But then its understandable because you may have schedules for the whole week already, or maybe up to next month, but it's all worth it… you get all you want - including successful showbiz career, #1 in UAAP team standing. Now you still have one goal… one last goal for this UAAP season ---winning the championship! And with all the hardwork, perseverance, trust, unity and teamwork of the blue eagles - your team is really expected in the championship game.

Winning up against UE is not that easy, and taking the lead at 70 - 50 is really a great surprise. Fans (including me of course) would really be proud of the team… Now we smell a close ADMU - DLSU game in the championship again… We'll continue praying for the team for a fair and healthy game always…To you and to the rest of the Blue Eagles - CONGATULATIONS!!!

One Big Fight ADMU!
** there's nothing impossible if you lift it all up to God**

Godbless, Blue Eagles!

good luck on sunday. we'll be there... if we can get our hands on the uaap tickets. haha. according to the Inquirer, tickets at the Araneta were sold out in just 3 hrs.

As always, any Ateneo-La Salle game, moreso in the finals, stirs excitement and a different kind of high on both sides. The Ateneo community and the countless supporters of the Blue Eagles Team (outside Ateneo) are behind you all the way.

Son (may I call you that?), stay focused on the game and free yourself from all the pressure and distractions that go with it. Sometimes, it is the pressure from the community that robs the players of the joy in executing and finishing the job. My unsolicited advice for you and for the team is to ENJOY THE GAME ... BE CALM ... DO YOUR BEST ... GO FOR IT ... AND BELIEVE !!! I will continue to support you and your teammates through prayers.

Remember, your team is already a WINNER. No matter how the finals would end, the Blue Eagles will always be our CHAMPION.

For now, keep yourself healthy and relaxed. God bless!!!

CHRIS..

.. just wanna share you these..

There's always the MOTIVATION of wanting to win. Everybody has that. But a champion needs, in his attitude, a MOTIVATION above and beyond winning.

Individuals play the game, but teams win CHAMPIONShips.

People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success.

The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.

The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

The idea is not to block every shot. The idea is to make your opponent believe that you might block every shot.

It doesn't matter who scores the points, it's who can get the ball to the scorer

The Harder you work the harder it is to surrender.

Professional coaches measure success in rings. College coaches measure success in championships.

Discipline builds winners, Winners stay disciplined!

There are two kinds of people, those who do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the first group there is less competition there.

A Loser says, Well at least I tried! When in reality, at most he tried; A Winner doesn't have to say it, he just does it...be a doer, not a trier..

.. goodluck to your upcoming games..

i thought small things don't matter, but i think of the last game we've lost by one point.
hehe.. 1 point really hurts.. and do matter..

i BELIEVE IN YOU #17..
...thank's...

yah ur right i nvr expected the kind of game that UE showed last Sunday, its as if they are not in the mood to play.but as what u have said i have to gave credit to the kind of defense that EAGLES showed,it was really, really good.though you did not score with a double digit(just like what u normally do)u still blend in ur team and your assists really helps.im really glad with the kind of play that jai and eric showed, they really step up and i hope they or rather your team can bring that kind of play to the finals.honestly i never thought that UE sold the game, its just that they didnt get through u guys!!i would like to informed you that the tickets for finals are already sold out 3 hours after your game, thats what i heard on the radio and when i ask a friend to go to araneta to ask regarding the tickets- sadly they are all sold out(as in all games!).tickets will only be available at Ateneo,La Salle, and UP.i can only watch it on t.v..so sad..but wish u luck on Sunday and conrats on winning against UE..

zai jian!

P.S
i always watch Ripleys even if it is already late..i find it really educational and sometimes funny because of the voice over..btw nice karate moves..hehehe...

Hello! Mr Tiu

I felt peculiar when you only scored two points with your game against UE,nonetheless, just what you've said the credit should go for the rest of the team for a job well done. The twenty points indeed a huge difference.

I would like to commend you for a marked improvement on your hosting stint, i guess you did your homework! Just a few adjustment and you're already there.

Congrats on all the successes you're enjoying right now. We're all praying on the team's success on the finals.

Yippee! ADMU won against UE. Now, you’re qualified in the finals. You and your team would battle it out with your archrival DLSU. It seems like history repeats itself. But the only thing that (I hope) wouldn’t repeat is that they’ll win over your team again. I hope the adidas shirt (the one that says “bring back the pride”) is a good forward planner. Good Luck on your next 3 games with the greens. I think they would revenge against the blue eagles after you got the favor of the 2 games against them. But I believe because it is a 3-consecutive ADMU-DLSU game, both teams would be prepared (and also the fans too).. Woot!:) GO ATENEO! capTIUre the ball! :)) TIU can do it!

What’s with the number 17? It apparently defines luck. Yepp.. LUCK! Just a few hours ago, our adviser announced the top 10 of the class.. And yes, I was there! See! It’s September 17 today. Actually, that thing was supposed to be announced yesterday, but my adviser said let’s just do it tomorrow so that you’ll get thrilled! Uhh. I hope kuya Chris, you’ll get to find time to tell your authentic ‘seventeen story.’ Many had dropped by your site (telling their lucky 17 experience and asking for your story) and we’re really excited to know why you found 17 as your jersey number since elementary. You’re lucky number became epidemic nowadays. 17—an ordinary number outside, but a big impact inside.:)

i heard in the news over the radio that the NBI is watching out for scalpers of tickets for your game. they should have done that years ago. those scalpers are taking advantage of people, whether from the blue or green side, who are anxious to get tickets & watch you guys play. this just shows how highly-anticipated your games are.. oh well! let's just all hope & pray that everything will turn out right & every player will be safe. I so proud of you chris not only in scoring but you are in assist.. I hope in final game one on sunday against DLSU you guys really improve and more on the defensive stop against them.. Anyway, good luck on your game against La Salle. I'm really hoping that you guys win the championship. I'm actually thinking of watching the game live but I'm having problems with the tickets. And congrats on your show. It is nice to hear that it is rating well. Actually it is the only show I'm watching because of my hectic sked and my mom can't complain that I'm watching it even though it's airing late. Haha:))

Again, good luck to your next games with the Green Archers. I'm hoping and praying you guys win.

good luck on sunday! i already scored my tix last monday in ac. :D sold out in 3hrs i heard!

the last few games of ur collegiate bball career---against the archers even! i hope u dont play pro bball anymore; tis just diff in pba cos the school spirit is lacking already---thus im not able to follow the careers of my fave eagles anymore---and cyrus baguio [i still think hes one of the best ive seen---at least the one i was able to see when he was still playing for uaap]. maybe try out as a sportscaster or sports analyst? pay isnt much but tis ur love and passion for bball that pushes u to do it. :)

the eagles have improved smuch on the defense. guess tis also the players. that was one of the probs of the team back when we were in hs. rebound some more---and try to get second chance pts as well. brush up on the charity shots as it will be v crucial esp in the last few minutes in case of foul troub for the archers.

JAI-ERIC: the future of ateneo srs bball. ;)

about ripleys...i am still amused when u talk in fil b/c u normally dont---as w interviews and the like. i think u need to brush up on that---tis a common prob cos u prolly also grew up in an env't where english is the primary lang. but uve improved on cam cues---u just looked a bit too tired w last monday's ep. u were livelier during the previous shows.

just a little more sacrifice, chris. u and the rest of the eagles will end this uaap season w a BANG! ["hi" to coach jamike---i think hes the nicest coaches ive met] see u at the game! ;)

i just want to congratulate you again for winning against the warriors. i really wished that i had the chance to watch it. according to my classmate (and you stated it already in your blog entry. hehe.), your defense was really good. :) and you and rabeh didn't even get to score a lot during that game. but what if the both of you scored high that time? would that mean that the gap between the scores of admu and ue would be higher?

i really hope that you will have the same amount of defense on your upcoming games with dlsu. but it will be much better if your defense will be higher and of course, your offense should be high too, right? :)

GOOD LUCK on your games and KEEP ON BELIEVING TO GOD (though i think i really didn't need to write that here because it’s very clear that you are deeply devoted to Him :D). HAVE FAITH AND GOD BLESS!

GO ATENEO! GO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! :)

i dont think tis necessary to say negative stuff about the archers. im not a fan of those taft boys either but we arent any different from the ones who trashtalk in the games w comments like this.

to each his own but i still do not believe in bad mouthing other people, even ateneo's bitter rivals. cos i was also irrated w ateneo alumni seated at my back during last sunday's game...their comments on UE and DLSU were uncalled for. they were saying nasty things about the players. comment on bad calls and such---stay within the game and stop w the personal criticisms.

seriously. i pity ateneo for having schooled people like them. their professors' time wasted, their parents' money down the drain. :(

Anonymous said...

Hey Chris,

Just a criticism.

The team tends to get too relaxed whenever we're ahead of a couple of points. I hope they try to change the attitude and not do it again next time.

That's all. I know you're aware of that too. It's your job to remind them since you're the captain.

Thanks.

-A Concerned Atenean

LJ said...

Great game your team had there. Honestly, UE was not in their usual pace. And, don't mind what other people are saying. You did your best, that's why your team win - and you bring them there. Since you are the captain, they get their drive from you. No scores? That's fine. You already scored more points, because you gave your team an inspiration and drive to do their best.

Keep it up, Chris. Goodluck.

about your game versus UE, sorry but i don't care if you only just score 2 points, i'm just happy that you won the game (period).. hope you carry the momentum until the finals ( i just realize that you have 9-0 record after your loss to FEU )

about winning an award, i'm sure you have a seat in the mythical five but i don't know if you will be the MVP.. just what i said last tym, I'm not hoping that you will win the season MVP crown, but I'm praying that you be the Finals MVP.. so good luck on sunday..

Chris! Your brother is so sweet! He's probably your number 1 fan!

"It is tough to compare my passion for the team against other fans and supporters of Ateneo. For some, if not most people, it is a matter of their love for their school, and the school pride, but for me, apart from that, and apart from that basketball has essentially been my life, apart from the fact that i am close friends with alot of players in the team, this is my brother who is playing and because of that, my passion and love for this team is very very strong. The bond made by blood is stronger than anything else. I share the same pain when they lose, and the same glory and pride when they win.

So, Go Ateneo, it's game time. Bring back the Glory. AMDG"

The next games will definitely be exciting! I'm wishing for a FAIR game as well!!! Good luck to everyone!!!! Hi Chris,

Well, I just want to express
something...
Everytime I read you entry that that is somehow related with ADMU, with UAAP basketball games, or etc... it makes me feel that you're craving for another season to play at the UAAP or another year to stay at ADMU.
You always let your readers feel how you feel and enjoy what you enjoy doing. You let us feel your loyalty with your ALma MAter and your love for the Blue Eagles (family).
You see nman how it affects your supporters...we also feel sad that this will be the last year we'll be seeing you play (on tv)...

And as Ayumi Nakamura-Takarai said:
"God bless, Chris. We're all behind you. and I believe, so is God. And I'm also praying for a fair game. This is your last year after all...i want you to finish it the way you want it."

Sana next time happy thoughts naman...let us know, that you'll be playing for the PBL or that you're pursuing your showbiz career so we can catch you on tv often... or stuffs like that... :)

"it feels sad when you're sad"

so long...
Godbless!
GoodLuck Blue Eagles, you'll always be in my prayers... go for gold!!!

hmm.. my mood's so gloomy. weird.. well, maybe because it's sinking into my mind as the finals is fast approaching that it's your last playing year in the UAAP(probably the final 2 games, if you sweep the series).. that soon someone else would be ateneo's #17; that soon i won't be able to watch the most handsome & the coolest guard on-court dribbling that orange ball & shooting it through the hoop often beyond the 3-point arc; that soon there won't be funny banners with the playful "Tiu's" on them; that soon i won't be able to see those chinky eyes & immaculate smile of yours that simply leave me breathless; that soon this budding entrepreneur, consistent dean's lister, public servant, endorser & host(did i forget anything?) would be wearing a different jersey maybe with a different jersey #(depending on whether you'd pursue your basketball career in the PBA); that soon i'd be less excited in watching team ateneo play because my greatest inspiration isn't there anymore; that soon i'd only be seeing you regularly during saturdays(pinoy records) & monday nights(ripley's).. oh! there are so many things that are going through my mind that i can't express them all here.. i just feel so sad & helpless. this is a different feeling that i believe i haven't felt before. you inspire me in so many ways & you always lighten up my mood whenever i feel so down. i look up to you as a role model & as someone i truly, deeply & sincerely admire. i will definitely miss you, chris, we all will.. i wanna cry! aww. so dramatic! but true.. miss clarisse ong is the luckiest girl because she has your heart. i just pray that she won't hurt you & that you will always stay happy together. if destiny dictates it that you'd be together till death do you part, i hope you'd have a happy family with God at the center of your lives.. i just wish & pray that you be blessed more & more because you deserve it. i can't pinpoint any flaws in you, well maybe because i don't know you personally. many people say you're very accommodating & definitely not intimidating despite your popularity & all the success you've achieved. you've managed to keep your feet firmly rooted on the ground. you stay cool & calm even though the players from other teams are tough on you.. you're simply everything i've ever dreamed of. you're the bring-home-to-mom kinda guy(for sure my mom would be the happiest mother when i bring you home!).. boy-next-door. name it! every positive description fits you.. sigh. i hope after this UAAP season & even after years you'd still regularly update you blog. this is my only way of checking on you & knowing what you've been up to; i hope you could share more about personal stuff- including your family, friends, relatives, miss clarisse, etc.; i hope you'd have a grand fans day for all of us who are going gaga over you!; i hope, pray & wish that someday i can be with you & no one can bring us apart(yeah! now i'm really dreaming!).. as the song goes, "thank God i found you, i was lost without you.. my baby i'm so thankful i found you!" my life truly became more colorful & meaningful the moment i was aware of the existence of this man named CHRISTOPHER JOHN ALANDY-DY TIU..
from the bottom of my heart, a big THANK YOU for everything, chris. maybe you think you've done nothing, but you just mean the world to me. please continue being who you are, the chris we all knew & fell so deeply in love with.

i wish you happiness & good health now & always..

may team ateneo bring home the UAAP season 71 championship crown & may you be this season's MVP..

& may you always soar high & reach the farthest places..

God bless you. ily

Things are just gonna get interesting. I waited for 6 years for this match-up and we are actually on it again. Yeah, it was a solid defense. SOLID! that's the only word to describe it. For a moment I almost forgot that you were actually playing against a strong team...i loved the 3rd quarter scores. hahaha. (I really liked how eric played the game :P)

just a thought that i want to share with you. i know you did not really do well last ue game (i dont know how to say it in a better way ;) ) but u know what, you're still lucky. man, ive already experienced being in a crowd and i tell you, when players just go the wrong way, people shout at them, curse them, hate them, get mad at them, etc. but in that U.E. game, i never heard of anyone cursing you or what. that was so amazing. somehow i know that people may have felt disappointed but they just kept silent and continued cheering. how could they not hate you? :) maybe because you have earned their respect by being so much humble in court (and maybe off court). no show offs. unselfish. no pretentions. and most of all, hindi feeling magaling. no wonder a lot of people admire you. its just so sad that this will be your last year in uaap. Goodluck in your last remaining games, and thank you mr. #17. Godbless! :)

I am very much impressed by the way you carry on your normal/usual activities as a student during the week prior to the finals. 'Atta boy!!!

As the finals is fast-approaching, I think I'm more pressured than anyone of you guys, combined. The anticipation ... I can't explain it, but it's like EXPERIENCING LABOR AND BIRTHING PAIS ALL OVER AGAIN.

In all the years that I've been watching the games of the Blue Eagles, I feel a different kind of attachment to this present bunch. My 12 y.o. daughter fondly calls you "TIUperman," Rabeh as the "Gentle Giant," with Jai, Nonoy, Nico, Eric and Ryan as the brothers that she never had. Actually, she wants to consider everyone in the team her "Kuya."

Anyway, expect us to cheer for the Blue Eagles on Sunday. We will continuously pray for your team, the coaching staff and the refs big

GO FOR IT!!! BF!

hi Chris!

You and the rest of the Blue Eagles really deserve to win. Hope you get the championship this time.=) Good luck on Sunday's game! I'll be praying for you.

Btw congrats for the Ripley's. I've been watching you since the start of Pinoy Records and you improved a lot.

You're so lucky to have a brother like Charles. (I have read his blog and it's so sweet.=))

God Bless Chris!

One Big Fight! :))

I was glad my friend gave me a ticket as a gift for this game, it was my first time ever to watch a live UAAP game. The Blue Eagles winning made it so Memorable. Hope you beat the Archers in the Finals. Too bad I can't watch it live. Anyway. God Bless. Go ATENEO!

P.S. Anyway just want to share, during the game we called Jai Reyes "Ninoy" because he was in the iamninoy ad. :))

is it true that ateneo offers a course "the ateneo lasalle rivalry" or something similar to that wherein you teach the students the history of the rivalry? wherein one required reading material is an essay that is entitled "how to spell correctly during cheerdance competetion"? oh my! you must be really DESPERATE and THIRSTY for that championship! poor you :( poor ateneo! :(( well at least jv casio already had two championships during his college basketball career...on the other hand you have none.. aw.that must really be sad. if you win this season. congrats. that's ur first and last! :)) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
i'm looking forward to your blog/game review when you win this season..BUT I AM MORE EXCITED FOR YOUR BLOG/GAME REVIEW WHEN DLSU WINS!!!! wahahahahahahaah :))

Hi Chris! Its me again JONA, the die hard Ginebra and the crazy over CHRIS TIU lady! (hehe)

Nabasa ko over various article last time, it seems me problem sa pagpasok sa PBL, naudlot tuloy ang tuwa ko, namin pala! Me and my friends are kinda excited about the good news sana, kaso, naunsyami. We are really hoping to see you soon playing in the pro. We are actually having a discussion pa nga, whether saang team ka mapupnta, some of my friends said Red Bull, takaw Atenista daw kasi sila, some of them said baka ikaw daw ang next top pick, so without involving any trades, sa medyo nangangailangan ng serbisyo mo na team. But I'll say, sana sa Ginebra! Im really, really praying!

So, kelan ka ba talaga namin mapapanuod sa PBA? Sana di na magtagal! (If possible, sana sa GINEBRA ka na lang, hehe)

Mr. Chris Tiu.
I really admire your beliefs and viewpoints in life. You are really one heck of a kind. How I wish I also have even half of the zest that drives you to excel perfectly in every endeavor you venture on.
You know what, all the words and quotable quotes you say really inspired me. You are really so amazing. How lucky are your love ones for having you. You are a gift to everyone, a special gift worth keeping for a lifetime...
Keep up the goodworks, continue to be a great wonder for others. May God bless you more..

Hey Chris,

First and foremost, congratulations for winning the UAAP championship. You deserve it, for all your hard work. It's great to see you succeed in the field of sports, as well as in your academic endeavors. I heard you'll graduate this year, congratulations to you on that matter.

Honestly, I've known you as a player since I was in high school, but when I learned about all your accomplishments-- in academics(I know you were a cum laude), in sports(being accepted into the team is hard, especially in ADMU), in your community(i also happened to read an article that said you are a kagawad of your barangay in Makati, and I heard it from you yourself), and of course you duties as a Roman Catholic. It's amazing that you can do all these things, I mean, not all people manage to do these stuff. Specifically the last thing I mentioned, being a good Roman Catholic. Boy, I am happy to know that there's still people like you left in the world.

When I knew all these stuff about you, I was really inspired-- and amazed. It's more of admiration, I think. :p

Anyway, congratulations again, Chris. I'm pretty sure there's a bright future waiting ahead for you. Continue inspiring the youth, including myself. I wish I could see you in person and tell you how grateful I am, because of all the things you're doing, trying to change the world. I hope more people will follow your footsteps.

Congrats Chris! God bless you and you family. :)

"And one more common thing is that both schools love to generalize. When one Atenean makes a bad goof-up (bonfire!) its generalized to the whole community! When one Lasallite makes a mistake or when there is a bad incident (awarding, illegitimate players) it is generalized to the whole community too! And i personally think that it is not fair."

yeah, dude. that's what you call essentialism. everyone's fond of doing that. but yeah, i agree. essentialism would get us nowhere -- unless of course if it's done strategically (a wonderful idea i got from spivak)
